About Ben Synoground
As a PhD graduate from Dr. Sarah Harcum\'s lab at Clemson University, my background is in recombinant mammalian cell culture optimization for improved biopharmaceutical production. My dissertation investigated the relationship between multiple CHO cell process stressors and key bioprocess outcomes through transcriptomic (RNA-Seq) and metabolic analyses.Beyond upstream process optimization and media development, I pursued a diverse, skills-based PhD that equipped me with expertise in transcriptomics and bioinformatics, proficiency in multiple coding languages, and a strong foundation in data science and statistics. My research further developed my skills in flow cytometry, downstream separations and unit operations, and advanced molecular biology techniques. With these skills, I am eager to advance the biopharmaceutical and gene therapy industry to create cutting-edge, affordable therapeutics to enhance patient quality of life.
