ABOUT BEN NICHOLSON
Many years ago, while studying Sociology at Louisiana Tech University, I realized that I was placed on a path to work with young people. For those that know me well, I am nothing more than a big kid and have a passion for working with children. While working with the Louisiana Methodist Children\'s Home in Ruston, LA, I met many children who were struggling with mental and behavioral issues. It was there that I found my purpose. After many years of formal education and experience, I now provide counseling, assessment, and behavioral support to local school systems, families, and centers in Northeast Louisiana. I continue to have a passion for working with difficult maladaptive behaviors and have built a reputation as the \"The Behavior Guy\" in North Louisiana. As a Licensed Behavior Analyst, I provide behavioral assessment and treatment for Autism, PDD, ADHD, ODD, and Feeding Disorders. I have focused on finding new ways to use Applied Behavior Analysis to treat Autism as well as other developmental disorders. As an outdoor enthusiast, I spend time getting children out of the house and educating parents about experiencing the great outdoors with their children. The great outdoors have been a therapeutic environment to many, including myself. My passion for education has led me to author blog. Writing has given me the opportunity to share my experiences with others and provide insight on changes in behavioral healthcare. The blog provides a place to openly discuss controversy and concern regarding mental and behavioral health of our children. I look forward to what the future may hold and will continue to feed my passion for pediatric behavior health. I believe all children should have the opportunity to experience what life has to offer. I will strive to help provide those experiences to our children who are struggling with disabilities. Let\'s \"LinkIn\" together and provide a better place and brighter futures for our children.
