ABOUT BEN MOAT
Dr Ben Moat is a Scientist at the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) in Southampton, UK. He is a physical oceanographer who specializes in studying large scale ocean circulation and its relationship to global climate and European weather patterns. He leads the RAPID 26N AMOC observing project and his research interests include AMOC weakening and Sub polar Gyre tipping points and their impacts on Society.Ben has participated in numerous ocean expeditions, spending nearly two years at sea making measurements to better understand the changing oceans. His research primarily focuses on the North Atlantic region, where he uses a wide range of ocean measurements from ships and autonomous systems, and large global ocean models to study how ocean currents interact with the atmosphere and affect climate.
