ABOUT BEN MANT
I have thirty years of law enforcement experience with Wiltshire Police and I have held a number of detective roles since joining the CID in These include national roles (Operation Hydrant) as well as regional roles with the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit.I have been the Senior Investigating Officer for a number of high profile reactive and proactive investigations.I am adept at leading teams and I have a track record of delivery against targets.I have worked extensively with partner agencies and understand the importance of relationship management. I have also chaired different sub groups of both safeguarding and community safety partnerships.I have completed the \"Coaching for Leaders\" programme with the College of Policing and I have enjoyed successfully coaching a number of colleagues through promotion processes.I am a trained PIP3 SOC SIO, K&E SIO, Hostage and Crisis negotiator and have worked extensively in different fields of covert policing.I have recently completed a master\'s degree and I am currently finishing an apprenticeship in police executive management - which will give me a Level 7 CMI qualification.Having retired in the summer of 2024, I am now supporting Aster Group as their Head of Complaints and Learning. A role focussed on continuous improvement through identifying learning when things go wrong. Insuring compliance with the Housing Ombudsman code and having a customer focus to do the right thing, not the easy thing.
