ABOUT BEN MILLER

Co-founder, Social Designer — °Latitude Project // Tutor — Better Conversations // Associate — Oakridge CentreI wear many hats. I swim against tides. I escape boxes. I think differently. I experiment with new ways to live, learn, and work. I help other humans do the same.I’m a generalist operating in a highly specialised economy; an entrepreneur in a risk-averse society; an inquisitive mind in a certainty seeking culture; community spirited in a self-interested marketplace; a human-being in a world built for machines.I’m fascinated by the questions we continue to grapple with — who are we, why are we here, how does our mind work, how does the world work, what is society for, and where are we heading. Everything that takes place in our classrooms, workplaces, virtual environments and beyond is downstream from how we think about, and discuss these questions. What is normal? What is education for? What does success look like? What work really matters? I challenge assumptions, reframe problems, and imagine different possibilities — not simply to justify a living, but because wellbeing, productivity, relationships, and our collective future depends on it. I’m a neurodiversity campaigner, designer, co-founder, entrepreneur, curator, trainer, researcher, volunteer director, husband, and friend. The whole of me is greater than the sum of my separate parts. I synthesise personal experiences, industry insights, societal trends, ancient wisdom, and modern cognitive science to create learning experiences and experiments that facilitate change. I care about improving the lives of all people but my current focus is helping our youth, diverse thinkers (or neurodivergent), and people that can influence their opportunities (in classrooms, workplaces, community settings).But more broadly — I explore how different patterns of thought shape every facet of organisational contexts (e.g. vision, values, culture, strategy, structure, decision-making, rituals, symbols, leadership, teamwork). I believe neurodiversity is more than just an end in itself — to either gather information, or to improve performance. It can also be a means to reimagine and transform everything. The future will be very different and there’s seeds of change everywhere, but the people sowing them are not those who think this moment is normal. I value many things personally including — my attention // vitality // coherence // exploration // balance // connection
