ABOUT BENJAMIN KING
Benjamin King (MSc) has been working in permitting and offshore wind development since 2009 and is currently Head of Permitting at Hexicon AB and lead Development Manager. Ben is an EIA specialist with experience of input and managing EIAs for offshore wind projects at a range of scales and across different markets. Ben manages Hexicons permitting team, with overall responsibility for all permitting and consenting activities across Hexicons portfolio which includes UK, Italy, Sweden and South Africa, South Korea. Ben is the project manager for Hexicons South Africa portfolio which includes the 800MW Gagasi Wind Farm. Key aspects of this role include- Strategic market analysis- Permit and development roadmap- Delivering feasibility studies (technical and business aspects)- Site selection and cable routing- Procurement - EIA management -Lead on permit input to DD process-Engagement with engineering teams/input to technical design works-Project management, budgeting programming -Team management-CompliancePrior to joining Hexicon, Ben worked for Red Rock Power where he was the Offshore Consents Manager for the 1GW Inch Cape windfarm and permit manager for the onshore Benbrack windfarm. Ben worked as senior consultant at Royal HaskoningDHV and managed/input to permitting requirements for several major UK offshore wind projects, including-East Anglia One North & Two DCO-Moray East Offshore Wind Farm-Race Bank OWF-East Anglia THREE
