Senior Development project manager for the Smithfield (Birmingham) development - Responsible for all design development within the project boundary including Infrastructure works and all vertical plots within the Smithfield Masterplan including commercial office, residential led mixed use, markets, leisure and culture plots.Main duties include setting up the projects commercial appraisal, agreeing budgets, procurement of design teams, contract and payments for all design team (PSA and PO\'s), project management of design team, programme of each plot from concept to start on site, managing design team, planning (Outline and RMA\'s)- technical design, procurement of PCSA for main contractor, D&B contracts for main build contractor and cost management during all the process.Other duties include leading the infrastructure design team and co-ordination the commencement of enabling works to allow vertical build to commence on programme.Competent in ensuring the design of HRB\'s (High Risk Buildings) to meet the requirements of the Build Safety Act 2022 for residential plots including understanding of investor requirements to future proof design of HRB\'s.

ABOUT BEN HORSFALL
I am an experienced Senior Development Project Manager responsible for all urban regeneration development activities with a specialist in residential mixed use development from early concept design through to completion. My background is Construction Project Management and furthermore I am a carpenter by trade. I strive to achieve a sustainable designed development with positive impacts on the environment with safety at design as first principles including designing out defects while maintaining an Incident and Injury free culture from design through to delivery. My current development project is Smithfield (Birmingham) where I have the responsibility for design, cost and programme for all vertical build plots, public realm and infrastructure within the full masterplan. I have previously undertaken project work winning and successfully project managed the development activities and construction of commercial offices, Residential apartments, Military single living accommodation, schools (BSF), colleges, hospitals and waste recycle centres under PFI, CMA and JCT design & build Contracts with values from £1m - £400m. I graduated from a Construction (Project) Management degree (First Class) in 2011 and gained MCIOB status in 2012. I am currently in the process of applying for FCIOB status.
