ABOUT BEN HARRIES

Ben is a Senior Technical Director within the UK Building Design Practice. A Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer, he has over 19 years’ experience within the industry and during that time has been responsible for the production and delivery of civil and structural engineering designs for a variety of projects throughout the UK. Ben now leads multidisciplinary teams to deliver large and often complex building projects, managing design and coordination of buildings and their supporting infrastructure.Ben’s projects have covered a wide variety of commercial and public sector developments for domains such as health, education, residential, retail and transportation which he can bring to bear on any project.Ben has also worked in the Clean and Dirty Water Team in water pipeline design, water retaining structures, building drainage design and as a CDMC Assistant.Since 2007, Ben has pioneered the use of BIM within Arcadis Consulting UK and during that time has developed a variety of skills and knowledge on the use of BIM and the available BIM software. As a result, Ben lead the adoption of BIM across the UK for over 10 years. Ben continues to provide strategic direction to the UK business with regards to BIM and is also the main point of contact for client enquiries. Ben works closely with colleagues to collaborate on standards and approaches to information management. He continues to provide support and training to project staff and Clients to help ensure the best implementation and use of BIM, Digital processes and technology across all projects and the full asset and operation lifecycle. Ben also has a pivotal role in liaising with the Arcadis IT community to push forward innovation through deploying the latest Digital technology on projects.
