ABOUT BEN GOLDING
I lead high-stakes national missions at the intersection of government strategy and commercial delivery. As Director of the Clean Power 2030 Unit, I am responsible for architecting the roadmap to a decarbonised UK power system – seamlessly integrating public policy and funding, regulatory frameworks and private sector investment. My track record is defined by managing multi-billion pound market interventions and complex industrial transitions. This includes spearheading the £40bn+ Energy Price Guarantee and support schemes following the 2022 energy price crisis, and current work to transfer the Renewables Obligation to the Exchequer. These roles have required a high degree of executive stewardship, including providing board-level governance across the UK’s energy and infrastructure portfolios.A graduate of the Oxford Major Projects Leadership Academy (MPLA), I combine the rigour of major programme delivery with a deep understanding of energy market architecture. I am equally comfortable navigating the complexities of the state and engaging with C-suite partners to unlock national-scale infrastructure investment.
