ABOUT BEN ELERS
I work with future-oriented companies, international organisations, civil society and the public sector to turn cutting-edge concepts from neuroscience into simple, powerful and practical tools and techniques to help people and organisations innovate, adapt and thrive in uncertain times. I believe that humanity can do better and that the key to this is how we understand and leverage our natural, biological, evolutionary developed brains. I am practitioner, not a researcher, bringing 30+ years of international experience in international organisations, the private sector and as an entrepreneur-\"The brain is the organ of destiny. It holds within its humming mechanism secrets that will determine the future of the human race\", Wilder Penfield. Our world is changing rapidly and profoundly. We must change too. Individually and collectively, we need new levels of agility, flexibility and imagination if we are to thrive in our uncertain world. This means using our brains in new ways, as they are responsible for everything we think, say, believe, feel and do. Whether you are seeking to develop new vaccines, design a human rights campaign, lead an organisational change process or transform employee motivation, engagement and well-being, it all happens in our brains. As cutting-edge modern neuroscience shows, our brains do not experience reality \'as is\'. Rather, they are incredibly complex \'prediction machines\', constantly generating and acting to test their hypotheses about the world. Left unchallenged, our internal models of the world can act as self-fulfilling prophecies, actively working to bring about the very predictions and expectations they generate. Individually and collectively, this has profound and far-reaching consequences for how we perceive, understand and react to change at all levels. By appreciating and embracing our brains\' deep biological architecture and heritage, we can leverage them in new ways; embracing and working with our biology, rather than against it. Given the enormous technological, political, environmental, social and economic upheavals the world is facing, there has never been a more important time to discover and explore what we are capable of. Individually and collectively, our futures literally depend on it. Please get in contact to explore ways that we might work together.
