About Ben Dornfeld
I am keenly interested in using powerful data analysis techniques and developing automation to tackle complex problems in a perpetually evolving business world. I am focused on doing so through the lens of one educated and experienced in a wealth of analytical techniques and actuarial modes of thought. I have spent well over a decade honing a well-balanced triad of skills -actuarial science, mathematics, and computer science -which has led to my rapid advancement in the insurance world. I started working at Everest in 2013, following completing my M.S. in Actuarial Science at BU. At present, I am a VP in the Reinsurance Cat Modeling department at Everest Reinsurance. I lead a property catastrophe modeling team primarily in support of Global Facultative Reinsurance business. Aside from modeling a significant volume of property submissions per year, my team works on initiatives that aim to advance and modernize global property modeling practices and workflows at Everest.Outside of work, I am an avid cyclist, I enjoy music and play the drums, and I enjoy the outdoors.
