ABOUT BEN DANTZER
I’m a mentoring professional with over 10 years of experience in Canada’s mentoring ecosystem. My mentoring career began as a graduate student in 2014, when I co-developed a peer mentoring program for Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth living in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Motivated by the program’s positive impact, my Ph.D research addressed Canada’s growing Mentoring Gap by developing and investigating an innovative mentoring model. Building on my doctoral research, I now leverage my mentoring expertise to enhance the capacity of individuals and organizations nationwide to effectively develop and sustain high-quality mentoring programs and relationships. I accomplish this by developing evidence-informed online courses, facilitating live training sessions, creating mentoring resources, and overseeing a national Community of Practice for mentoring professionals. As a long-standing volunteer mentor myself, I’m driven to continue improving both the access and quality of mentoring opportunities in Canada.
