ABOUT BEN CRAINIE

I recently achieved a BA Honours in marketing at Strathclyde Business School. I also previously studied at City of Glasgow College, where I successfully earned a Diploma of Higher Education in Business with Distinction. This time in higher education allowed me to study a wide range of areas within the world of business, such as economics, law (Scots, Business, and Internet), Human resources, Marketing, Statistics, and Data Analysis.My passion for Business has been a driving force since my early years. I vividly remember my first venture in primary school, where I initiated and managed businesses as part of the pupil and eco Council to raise funds. This early experience ignited a flame that I have continued to fuel, constantly seeking to expand my knowledge and skills within this field. Since graduating, I have continued to delve into the business world through educational media on areas such as Marketing Campaigns, the rise and fall of Businesses, Corruption, Financial Markets, Macroeconomics, Investing, etc. I have also been reading various books centred around different areas of the business world, such as…- Madoff: The final word by Richard Behar- The Dealmaker: Lessons in Private Equity by Guy Hands- Damaged Goods: The Rise and Fall of Sir Philip Green by Olivier Shan- DisneyWar by James B. StewartMy interests extend beyond the realm of business. I am also passionate about History, MMA, football, gaming, and rugby. I also enjoy exploring subjects outside of business, such as true crime, music, politics, and film. This diverse range of interests contributes to my well-rounded perspective and adaptability.My employment History is mainly within the retail sector, where I have been employed by Tesco. Throughout my time at Tesco, I have worked with a diverse group of people and gained a wide range of skills, such as working well within a fast-paced environment, Customer service and Emotional Intelligence. I\'ve also previously completed a voluntary placement within the security systems industry. This involved engaging with customers to ascertain their security requirements, assisting engineers with installing and inspecting equipment and completing relevant paperwork and reports. I am eager to apply the skills and knowledge I have acquired. My time in higher education has equipped me with a broad understanding of subjects such as Marketing, Law, Human Resources, and Economics, enabling me to thrive in various roles within an organisation. I am currently employed at Barclays.
