ABOUT BEN CISNEROS

I am an Associate at Morgan Sports Law, a boutique law firm focused exclusively on resolving sports-related disputes and protecting athletes’ rights, and have particular expertise in the sport of rugby union. I joined Morgan Sports Law in 2020, having graduated from Selwyn College, Cambridge, with a First in Law. During my degree, I also studied at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and am a fluent Spanish speaker. I regularly write for Rugby and the Law the website I founded to explore legal issues in rugby. My work in this field has led to my appearance on BBC television and radio, and I regularly speak on podcasts, at conferences and at universities on the subject. I have also written for The Telegraph, and have had work published by LawInSport, the International Sports Law Journal and the Entertainment and Sports Law Journal. Within rugby, I have advised players’ unions, including The Women\'s Rugby Association and Pacific Rugby Players Welfare, and represented players at RFU and EPCR disciplinary hearings. I also advise players, coaches and agents on contractual issues, and assist clubs with regulatory disputes. In my wider role, I assist across the firm’s practice areas and have experience of anti-doping, regulatory, personal injury and contractual matters in a range of sports. I have also appeared as an advocate before the Court of Arbitration for Sport and other sports tribunals. Away from law, I enjoy music and theatre, and regularly performed at the ADC Theatre whilst at Cambridge. I am also a keen sportsman and am a former National and European sailing champion.
