About Ben Brickman

My journey into MOVEMENT RESTORATION didn’t start in a gym - it began with my own challenges. Persistent musculoskeletal pain and discomfort after my deployment to Afghanistan with the Marine Corps, coupled with a series of minor injuries, sparked my curiosity about restoring balance and improving movement. Traditional rehabilitation helped, but something was missing. I realized that just because the body is healed doesn’t mean it functions optimally. That realization shaped my passion - not just helping people recover but empowering them to move, perform, and live better. After earning my AS in business management, I enrolled at Syracuse University to pursue a degree in Health and Exercise Science, where I deepened my understanding of movement mechanics while competing as a Division 1 wide receiver. At the same time, I began personal training, specializing in movement restoration, strength development, and posture correction. To further refine my expertise, I earned my NSCA Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification, along with certifications in Functional Movement Systems (FMS) and Y-Balance Testing, solidifying my approach to optimizing movement and performance.I was preparing for a CFL tryout in March 2020 when the world shut down. The COVID-19 pandemic not only canceled my flight but also all further tryouts and dreams of a career as a professional football player. Despite the setbacks, I adapted - working with a small number of clients outdoors while continuing to prioritize strength, endurance, and mobility in challenging times.Witnessing how the sedentary lifestyle forced upon many by the pandemic severely impacted people’s movement and overall health inspired me to take a different path. This led to the launch of WORKSITE FITNESS, where I help individuals restore movement, build strength, and develop deep-rooted confidence in their body’s natural abilities.Whether you\'re recovering from an injury, looking to improve your performance, or simply want to overcome the limitations of a sedentary lifestyle, I am here to help. Feb 2022 — Present · Albany, NY, US

Started Worksite Fitness to develop a new approach to corporate wellness with the goal of partnering with employers. My efforts are centered on introducing movement restoration and strength & conditioning to corporate environments, helping businesses reduce workplace injuries, improving employee well-being, and enhancing productivity. As an NSCA-certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with certifications in Functional Movement Systems (FMS) and Y-Balance Testing, my expertise lies in designing personalized training programs that correct posture, restore movement patterns, and empower the body’s ability to heal and thrive.CASE STUDY: RESTORING STABILITY AFTER ANKLE INJURYSITUATIONA volunteer firefighter suffered a severe ankle injury in 2021 while fighting a house fire. Despite surgery and two years of physical therapy, mobility remained limited, making daily activities difficult.CHALLENGEEven after rehabilitation, walking was difficult due to a severe limp, and standing for more than a minute was a challenge. His injury left him functionally compromised, restricting his mobility and independence.APPROACHAn initial assessment revealed severe limitations in dorsiflexion, inversion, and eversion. Myofascial release techniques were applied to restore ankle mobility, followed by a customized stability and strength program. A foundational movement pattern was introduced.Over 20 sessions, training progressed strategically - addressing instability, increasing strength, and incorporating cardiovascular work to rebuild endurance and confidence. Stability was restored across all joints, allowing for efficient, pain-free movement.RESULTS After one session, ankle function improved by 75%. Within 10 sessions, he confidently climbed a steep hill he had previously avoided. By session 20, he had lost 50 pounds, transitioned to barbell training, and achieved personal bests of a 365-pound deadlift, 335-pound squat, and 225-pound bench press.
