ABOUT BEN BERGER

Ben helps families succeed in achieving their goals by developing collaborative and trusting relationships. Since 1995, he has served families and family offices, addressing their full range of needs, including tax, operations, and technology. Ben enjoys working closely with families to uncover and prioritize solutions to complex challenges in the areas of structuring, governance, succession, philanthropy, multigenerational wealth transfer, and sophisticated tax and estate planning. Ben spends considerable time working with family offices to address structuring, governance and tax optimization issues. As a relationship builder, Ben works hard to bring thoughtful solutions and tailored guidance to each of the families he serves. He organizes and leads periodic family meetings that are used to educate family members, review the family’s assets and cash flow, discuss tax and estate planning opportunities, provide guidance on governance and succession planning, and evaluate relevant legislative and judicial changes that affect the family. This provides him the rewarding opportunity to mentor younger generations about the complexities, challenges and opportunities around wealth. At RSM, he enjoys developing and mentoring colleagues in order to provide them with opportunities for advancement and career growth. He is a member of the firm’s Family First employee network group and volunteers with many charitable and civic organizations. In his quest for continuous learning and growth, Ben is interested in meeting new families, so that he can learn from their experiences and become a stronger advisor.
