About Ben Bender
I graduated from Lee University with a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Ministry and a Minor in Special Education in 2021. Since then, I have been working as a Program Manager and Residential Manager at Best Buddies International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, inclusive living, and family support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).I am passionate about diverse and marginalized groups (people with disabilities and the LGBTQ+ community), nonprofit organizations, community outreach, and social/restorative justice. Aside from providing housing and friendship opportunities to people with disabilities, I am dedicated to learning more, volunteering with, and serving alongside the queer community.
