ABOUT BEN BELCHER

My work and passion in psychology and understanding the mind supersedes everything else that I do. To quote George Washington Carver:\"Anything will give up its secrets if you love it enough,\" and I have dedicated my life to understanding the bridge between the mind-body connection, and the impact it has on occupational engagement. I believe the mental challenges that we face in our daily lives are a direct reflection of the emotions that we store and suppress in the body, colouring how we view ourselves and the world around us. Whenever we experience mental suffering, mental freedom is waiting on the other side, if only we had the courage to let go. Over the last 7 years, my focus has been helping others embody their authentic voice, connect to their personal power, and put their own mental health and wellness first. I graduated from Exeter with a Degree in psychology, and I attained a merit in my occupational therapy Master\'s while studying in Oxford. I have worked in mental health for the NHS for the past 6 years and continue to work with them as a mental health consultant. My specialism in combining evidence-based Acceptance Commitment Therapy and polyvagal interventions has enabled me to transform the lives of many individuals in how they perceive work, relationships and life. Since first becoming a HCPC registered Occupational Therapist my unique experience now encompasses executive coaching, creating high-performing teams, building culture and collaboration as well as improving employee wellbeing and workplace performance. I work with teams, boards, and individuals, and my unique intuitive understanding of psychology helps me to break down “complex cases” in a way that is simple to understand and easy to act on. My approach revolves around 3 pillars of understanding: enhancing the power of the mind-body connection with embodiment skills, changing your relationship with stress so it can be used to empower you into a flow state and learning to surrender and needed so you can rest without guilt. My passion for well-being led me to create a free resource that allows teams to assess the impact self-esteem, anxiety stress might be having on their work-life balance. I also volunteer free workshops at yoga and wellness retreats!
