About Ben Andelman
I am a fourth-year student at the University of Michigan, studying Mechanical Engineering. I have a particular interest in control systems, mechatronics, and propulsion systems, especially in the field of electric and hybrid vehicles. I have been able to develop and explore my interests while being a member of Spark Electric Racing, a student project team at UofM. My experience as the powertrain team lead has allowed me access to contact with companies at the forefront of EV propulsion technology, as well as practice my design and machining skills when it comes to driveshaft manufacturing. Being in charge of a team has also developed my leadership skills, whether it is setting up extra work sessions, managing iterations of complex CAD assemblies, or making sure my team is well supported to work hard to produce the fastest project vehicle at the university!
