Seasoned adoption professional serving as the chief employee responsible for the administration and operations for the Infant Adoption Program at DePelchin Children\'s Center, a Houston-based child-placing agency, including program supervision, birth parent and birth family support, parent education, and all child-placing activities. I am tasked with facilitating the procurement and/or preparation of legal documents, procedures, and policies, including legal pleadings, obtaining relinquishment of parental rights by birth parents, procurement of the termination decree, final adoption decree, and all general legal proceedings. Counselor to expectant moms in unplanned pregnancies, open adoption educator, and facilitator. Providing options counseling and case management services to parents experiencing crisis and/or unplanned pregnancies, assisting them in making an adoption plan or exploring other parenting options, providing parent education, and explaining their legal rights as parents in the State of Texas. Advocate and educate birth parents and adoptive families on open adoptions and facilitate this process. Assist prospective adoptive families through the application and home study process, providing them with quality training on all aspects of adoption, including lifelong supports available through the post-adoption program. Coordinate the placement process, working closely with hospital staff, and preparing the adoptive family for placement. Provide post-placement supervision of the family and child, involving continued education and support for the entire family, and facilitation of the legal process of adoption. For school age children I advocated for special education services, educated the families on on IDEA, worked closely with local LEAs proving documented medically necessary services to provide justification for special education, including documentation for hearing loss and audiology services, low vision, medical needs for nursing, assistive technology, therapist and physician recommendations psychological evaluations, and the need for specialized transportation.
