Basic sewing skills of working with senior members who have a desire to sew. Basic knowledge of how to thread and use individually owned sewing machines, stitch functions, basic up keep of the sewing machines, how to read a pattern, learning the grains of fabrics, sewing with/without naps, inserting zipper, buttons, button holes, dressmaking and basic sewing crafts. Items already sewn includes: pillowcases, heartshaped pillows, pants, pajamas, dresses, blouses, house shoes, aprons, pot holders, tote bags, men bow ties, handkerchieves, dickies and beginning quilts, kitchen curtains, place mats, table runners, stuffed animals, flowers for corsage, and other decorating. During this past Christmas season we also made Christmas jewelry that was well received by the group. Other ideas are welcome from class members. We challenge you to join this fun group of lovely ladies.
