As a Dual Language Social Studies Teacher and Social Studies Department Chair, I passionately cultivate a supportive and thriving environment for students, and empower fellow educators to implement best-in-class strategies which foster a school-wide culture of continuous improvement. I empower fellow educators by providing resources for collaborative lesson enhancement and alignment through a shared folder, fostering a community of continuous improvement. Utilizing my skills in data analysis, I address team needs directly, ensuring a responsive and effective teaching approach.My commitment to building trust and community within my department stems from my values as a first-generation college student, Mexican-American, queer individual, and eldest daughter. I prioritize amplifying voices, creating a safe space for opinions, and fostering a culture of open communication. Through my experiences and identities, I bring a unique perspective to problem-solving, always considering the absent voices in the room and championing diversity in thought and approach.Ultimately, my role extends beyond the classroom; I am a collaborative leader who values effective teaching and grading policies. I love learning from like-minded teacher leaders, contributing to a collective effort to elevate education standards.
