ABOUT BEHR NEIGHBORS
I grew up on a farm, working in my extended family’s different construction businesses. Was a state athlete and hay bale throwing expert. I earned a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1980. Spent the late eighties engineering and installing LAN systems for Illinois state agencies and doing tech consulting for the Illinois Governor’s office as well as the DOD. I spoke before the Illinois Legislature on technology, and was selected to speak at the Midwest Governor’s conference. I spent a year converting a ferrite ceramics plant with 350 employees to modern technilogical standards live, without a shut down.I moved to Ohio in 1990, consulting/engineering for US Steel, General Electric, P&G, the DOD, Astra Pharmeceuticals, and similar others. I built an electronics/engineering division at Jetcom, Inc, and then worked in the package printing industry including bringing CPPI International up to industry electronic standards through process and efficiency engineering. I have done security work and have clearances from the FBI, TTB, ATF, DHS, and the DOD.In I opened a winery where I received over 350 winemaking awards on three continents, earning numerous Golds, Concordance Golds, 90+ ratings. In 2008, I earned the packaging industry’s PEAK label of the year for a label I designed-see Beverage World. I have been a Spirits Industry Liaison for a national A&E firm, an expert industry witness for a federal distilling industry case, and have consulted on distilling industry projects from software and logistics to project capitalization. Just for fun:I co-produced a documentary on a top-secret inflatable plane the CIA built. I sculpted a miniature cannon that was reproduced to raise money for a war memorial. I write under a pen name and have been published in over a dozen literary magazines and another dozen online. I have participated in the Moth as a storyteller and am working up more stories every day as I meet new, exciting, and unusual people- You know who you are;)Hobbies: Reading, writing, dogs, cooking, brick oven building, and long walks. Keywords: Behr, bear, bayer, baer, bare, liquor, liqueur, barrel, craft, grain, still, distill, distilled, distiller, distillery, distilleries, rye, whiskey, bourbon, scotch, moonshine, vodka, rum, gin, brandy, absinthe, tequila, mezcal, cognac, single barrel, spirit, alcohol, rectified, fortified, ADI, DISCUS, ADSC, pot still, column still, Development, A&E, Architects & Engineers, Expert Witness.
