About Behnaz Saatian
I am a passionate cell and molecular biologist with interest in genetics and cancer biology. I am an independent researcher with excellent ability in designing, executing and developing projects. I am highly skilled in advanced molecular biology techniques, including PCR and qPCR, molecular cloning, genome editing, genome sequencing, protein analysis, protein-protein interaction assays, and microscopy and imaging. Joining USC and doing research on breast cancer metastasis to the brain have let me hone my skills in mammalian cell culture, neuron harvest and culture, immunocytochemistry and immunohistochemistry, and in vivo studies. I have authored several manuscripts, technical reports and grant applications. I have been recognized for excellent communication skills through presentation awards and teaching evaluations. I’ve taken on various leadership roles, including mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, coordinating research events, leading teaching assistants, and managing sequencing facility and QC lab.
