ABOUT BEDANTA CHAKRABORTY

I am a legal professional working in financial markets, currently part of the legal team at JPMorganChase.My work sits at the intersection of complex products, regulation, and risk. Over the years, I have supported clearing, OTC derivatives, cash equities, and structured products, often across jurisdictions and time zones. The work is demanding, sometimes messy, and rarely linear, which is exactly what drew me to it.I did not arrive here through a straight line. I started my career in telecom and infrastructure, worked closely on commercial contracts and M&A, and gradually moved into financial services. That transition taught me how to learn fast, ask better questions, and stay grounded when the stakes are high.Alongside my legal work, I have consistently cared about building more inclusive spaces. From my years in law school to my professional life today, I have been involved in inclusion focused efforts in different forms, some formal, some quieter. This work has been personal and intentional, rooted in the belief that people do their best work when they feel seen, respected, and safe.I value clarity over noise, judgment over volume, and people who take the work seriously without taking themselves too seriously. I believe good legal work is as much about listening and context as it is about black letter law.Still learning. Still curious. Grateful for the trust placed in me.
