ABOUT BECKY LORENZ PETERSON

I am an Associate Professor in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Michigan, with courtesy appointments in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and Applied Physics Programs. I am also Director of the University of Michigan\'s Lurie Nanofabrication Facility, an 13,500 square-foot cleanroom with 450 users and 18 technical staff. My research is experimental, and focuses on wide and ultrawide semiconductor materials and devices, including thin film oxide semiconductor devices for BEOL 3D monolithic integration silicon CMOS and as well as wide and ultra-wide bandgap semiconductor devices for high voltage power electronics and high temperature ICs. In Fall 2019 I was on sabbatical leave as a Visiting Scientist at the Paul-Drude-Institut für Festkörperelektronik in Berlin. I have received a DARPA Young Faculty Award, NSF CAREER award, and U-M\'s Henry Russel Award (the highest honor for junior faculty). My research is sponsored by DARPA, DoW, NSF, ONR, and industry partners. I am Chair of the 2020 Device Research Conference, Treasurer for the Electronic Materials Conference 20••••21, and Chair the Sub-Committee for Optoelectronics, Devices and Imagers for the 2020 International Electron Device Meeting. From 20••••25, I was an Associate Editor for Applied Physics Letters, an AIP journal, and I was a guest editor for a special issue of APL Materials on wide bandgap materials. At University of Michigan, I teach graduate and undergraduate courses on semiconductor devices and circuits. Previously, I taught undergraduates at University of Cambridge and Princeton University.
