I am a pragmatic data scientist and leader who balances my intellectual curiosity in cutting edge technology with feasibility, cost, and ethical constraints. What drives me is being useful.I have 10 years of experience in addition to a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from Yale. Like most data scientists, I love programming, problem-solving, optimizing, doing rigorous research, and discovering new truths in data. Unlike many data scientists, I also love teaching, scoping projects, mentoring junior teammates, and collaborating with stakeholders as we work toward common goals.My technical areas of expertise include all areas of machine learning, advanced statistics, signal processing across time and space, and experimental design. I have experience in natural language processing, and more recently, Generative AI theory. I am particularly interested in Responsible and Explainable AI approaches.
