Provide leadership support for 44 personnel staff, which includes technologist, phlebotomists, and laboratory assistants in day-to-day operations of the department. • Provide a laboratory presence in upper leadership meetings and decisions in support of the laboratory. • Monitor inventory and secure supplies for laboratory operations. Work alongside the purchasing department to obtain substitutions for supply shortages and cover critical low inventories. • Ensure the laboratory is meeting compliance in the Core laboratory, Bloodbank, Microbiology, Histology, and Point of Care by performing CAP proficiency tests, self-inspections, rounding in each unit, and reviewing necessary documentation for QC, calibrations, linearity, and precisions as required. • Perform payroll, timekeeping, and scheduling for all shifts. • Work with respiratory therapists and nursing to maintain proper point of care usage, inventory, training, and competencies. • Perform super-user training and serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in a system-wide EMR conversion of CERNER to EPIC, as well as perform LIS validation testing with instruments and middleware to ensure accuracy.
