ABOUT BECKY MACDONALD
I am passionate about looking after our environment for future generations and I am determined to make a difference to the world we live in. So it is no surprise that my career has revolved around the treatment of wastewater (be that industrial or domestic), so that our environment is better off as a result of actions I have taken. My qualifications are in chemical and process engineering (B.E (Hons) and PhD). I have significant experience bioprocessing and environmental engineering. My background spans both R&D and engineering consulting. I have worked with the food and beverage, water and wastewater, and specialty chemicals industries. My area of special expertise is wastewater treatment, especially separation processes. As my career has progressed, so has my project and programme management experience. I have managed large and complex projects as well as numerous small projects with clients from industry, central government, and local government. I particularly enjoy leading teams with diverse skills and experience.I am a Chartered Chemical Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). I have spent many years on the Board of IChemE in NZ, two of those as Chair, and was recently appointed as a Director of the Dick and Mary Earle Trust Board.
