Project planning and managing the delivery of the Down’s Syndrome Association’s “WorkFit” programme and raising public awareness around the issue of employment for people with Down’s syndrome in areas of England.Promoting current employment policy and practices for people with learning disabilities, in order to share them with employers involved in the project and in so doing increasing the employment opportunities for people with Down’s syndrome. Capitalising on the willingness of these employers to develop work opportunities for people with Down’s syndrome and supporting the progression of individuals with DS within their workforce Engaging with people with Down’s syndrome who are seeking work, and delivering regional work-focused ‘surgeries’ in association with affiliated Down’s syndrome support groups and networks.
