ABOUT BECCA MCCLURE
After 8 years in the corporate world, I embarked on a new adventure as Director of North Sky Yurts in 2020.It had been a dream of mine and with a nudge from a redundancy and a global pandemic I took the plunge with my business partner, Charlotte. We started North Sky Yurts with two large yurts and went on to acquire an existing bell tent hire business in April 2021, we now have a fleet of over 70 bell tents sleeping 100+ guests. We have worked with large businesses on delivering a glamping option for their customers and also have 3 sites that welcome over 50 groups a year.In October 2024, we took the plunge with an additional acquisition of a bell tent and glamping accessories retail business, The Bell Tent Shop.If you want to know more follow us on instagram at @northskyyurts @thebelltentshop or visit are proud of our role as Entrepreneurs in Residence for the BIPC in Leeds and have had amazing opportunities including meeting the Business Secretary at the British Library in London. During my corporate career, I raised over £5k for Macmillan through various personal challenges, I\'ve cycled from London to Paris and completed the Scottish Coast to Coast. I won the npower Future Leaders competition, which involved a yearlong sustainability project and the prize was to visit the Amazon fitting solar panels and water pumps into a tribal village in Brazil. This in part inspired my current business idea of an inspiring, communal space to re-connect with nature and ourselves. I also took the opportunity to take a sabbatical in 2017 for six months, in which I travelled around Asia, starting with the trans-siberian train across Russia, into Mongolia then China. This trip was life changing and has made me a more considerate person, always aware of the bigger picture.
