ABOUT BECCA WEIGHELL
I am a passionate strategic leader who is dedicated to supporting young people to bring about change. I am champion of children’s rights and staunch advocate of power-sharing with young people. I am a youth engagement specialist with nine years of varied experience working with conflict-affected and underserved communities in the humanitarian and education sectors. I am hopeful and ambitious for the future and believe in the power of collective action and active citizenship to tackle injustice and inequity. I am currently Head of Youth Engagement for the Fair Education Alliance and a trustee for the Association for Citizenship Teaching. I also recently completed my Children, Youth and International Development master\'s degree, finishing with distinction. My dissertation (graded High Distinction) researched the extent to which the UK Government uphold Article 12 of the UNCRC (right to participate) in English secondary schools in comparison to FCDO funded education settings abroad.
