Hey all! My name is Becca, and when it comes to protecting, and advocating for children, I am a force to be reckoned with. As someone who has battled my own personal journey with abuse/ neglect/ mental health, I aspire to be a person who inspires others to heal. What good is it after all to invest in my children, and their future, If I’m going to ignore so many other children who are left compromised, and vulnerable. These children that are just as much my future and theirs all the same. Working in this field isn’t always, it’s hard, you have days where you don’t wanna walk back through the door. You’re like, “what could today possible bring?” Sometimes you do even fear for your safety. There are those of us though who continue to do so daily, and we continue to teach the children how to grant people grace. One of the best quotes I got from a women I recently worked with was “ sometimes we don’t get to watch the seeds sprout, we have to water them and move on…” Just because you don’t see the difference, doesn’t mean you aren’t making one. Keep the faith. I also am a mental health warrior with a story and journey that I share to inspire others.
