ABOUT REBECCA MITCHELL

I am an experienced developer, having worked within a variety of different companies, from small start-ups to multinational organisations. I think that some of my best skills are my ability to communicate and collaborate with a broad range of people. I am enthusiastic when it comes to my work and working with others and I find that I tend to motivate those I work alongside, with my open-minded and positive outlook.I would say that my strong suit is for server side development but that I have a good eye for client side also, giving me a good range of experience with end to end development; having worked extensively with the development of user interfaces for mobile and web applications. For instance Neighbourhood Guides developed with Daft.ie. I have a good understanding of working with relational databases, having utilised mySQL, MariaDB and MongoDB.I think that the key to good code is documentation, proper planning and adhering to and defining good processes, from test driven development (TDD) to things like defined and consistent deployment processes. I think that appropriate use of agile development methodologies is key to writing good code, whether it involves a small team or a larger modular organisation.Summary of skills-PHP, JQUERY/JAVASCRIPT, HTML/HTML5/CSS/CSS3/SCSS, C++, C#-Frameworks including Laravel(MVC/REST), Yii2, Codeigniter, Symfony, React, Bootstrap, Wordpress-MySQL, MongoDB and MariaDB-Versioning tools such as Github and Subversion-Environments such as Windows/Linux/MacOS and Unix-Project Management skills including the ability to work within agile scrum based teams.More about me: In my spare time I love to write fan-fiction for Star Wars and World of Warcraft. And I like to create artwork with Photoshop, which I am very proficient with, having worked with Photoshop for roughly fourteen years now. I also enjoy reading about the environment and new technologies that are becoming available to help combat environmental issues.
