CW4 Tidrick enlisted in the Texas Army National Guard as a Private in May 1988. His initial assignment was with HHC 1st Battalion 141st Infantry, Camp Bullis, Texas as a Combat Signaler on 12 December 1988. He proudly served in the enlisted ranks for 14 years, serving at various levels of leadership and responsibility including, Fire Team Leader, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Acting First Sergeant, Unit Administrator, Supply Sergeant, Readiness NCO, and Battalion S1 and S4 NCOs achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was appointed to Warrant Officer in August 2003.
