Chief Finance Officer & Co-Founder — Guadalajara, Mexico / Phoenix, Arizona 2016-PresentFood & Beverage startup established to capitalize on the growing popularity of Mexican beverages in the USA and around the world. Secured investor seed funding & constructed a successful brewpub flagship outlet producing all our own craft beer on premises with unique food & beverage selections. Leveraged the product quality & popularity to expand the brand into music events & entertainment while hosting capacity crowds regularly at Cerveceria Escala. After several years of growth embarked on a 2nd round of equity funding to expand and diversify the beverage portfolio into tequila, RTD alcohol and non-alcohol products. Negotiated deal to purchase a contract bottling and canning facility located on 42 acres in Jalisco, Mexico to vertically integrate the business by producing 3rd party contracted CoPacking services while preparing new internal beverage products to ramp & launch into the marketplace. Secured a partnership deal with Diviane to construct a new tequila distillery on the existing land & preparing to launch 3rd party and Escala branded tequila into the USA. Grupo Escala has raised ~$7.5m in capital and has grown from the initial seed valuation of $2m to $15m in the 9 years of operation. Responsibilities include overseeing all Finance and Administration, Investor Relations, VC Deal Packages, Private Placement Memorandums, Capital Fundraising/Subscription Agreements, Debt Management, CEO/COO Business Partnership & Influence, and Coordination of all Board of Director activities. Managed relationships with >50 shareholders publishing quarterly business reports and chairing the annual shareholder meetings.
