ABOUT BEATA BIENKOWSKA
A strategic leader in sustainability research and climate finance, I bring a decade of experience delivering high-impact, client-relevant research across global institutions. At UNEP FI, I now drive global positioning on sustainable finance across multiple platforms, including G20, the Transformational Finance for Climate Group, the Investor Agenda, the Taskforce on Net Zero Policy and the NGFS. I co-author policy- and investor-facing research, and lead the design and stakeholder engagement for a flagship product backed by $40+ trillion in assets with a launch expected at COP30. As Deputy Director at the LSE-based Transition Pathway Initiative Centre (TPI Centre), I spearheaded the establishment of the TPI Centre, designing its governance structure, setting medium-term research objectives, and securing a sevenfold increase in budget to reinforce the Centre’s market leadership.I also led development or enhancement of investor-backed climate products assessing corporates, banks, and sovereigns, and collaborated with FTSE Russell to align stock-level methodologies with index products. As Programme Manager at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) Accelerator, she launched Innovators for Change, one of the first virtual programs supporting early-stage innovators during the COVID-19 pandemic. With over a decade in high-stakes policy roles, including EU and global energy diplomacy, I deliver measurable outcomes through strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, and multidisciplinary collaboration. My academic background includes Harvard University, College of Europe and Warsaw School of Economics.
