About Beata Kirr

Beata D. Kirr is a senior investment executive with significant experience in asset allocation, portfolio creation, manager selection and impact investing across private and public markets. She is a natural and empathetic communicator and connector, who prides herself on seeing the big picture, communicating effectively across stakeholders and anticipating investment opportunities. Since 2023, Beata has been the Chief Impact Officer at The Copia Group, a lower middle market private credit firm, which provides private debt solutions to undercapitalized businesses. Beata is an active IC member, also participating in deal origination and impact covenant structuring. She leads the impact diligence and measurement process. Copia looks to create capital access and economic pathways for quality jobs and wealth creation for all. Beata pivoted to Copia in her search for private markets investing exposure after 17 years of investment responsibility at Bernstein Private Wealth. She left in 2023 as Co-CIO, having overseen the $100bn investment platform with responsibility for strategic asset allocation, manager selection, investment product evolution and communication. She co-led a nationwide organization of 45 professionals and was a member of the Private Wealth Executive Leadership Team. Beata led many investment evolutions, including the creation of an active/passive/alternatives portfolio, the launch of Active ETFs, the expansion of private alternatives (private credit, real estate, growth equity, secondaries, hedge funds, infrastructure), creation of the model portfolio platform and $6bn in responsible strategies, including Bernstein Impact Alternatives, a growth equity/buyout/venture custom solution. Beata worked closely with the largest family office and foundation clients to customize their asset allocations. Beata has always been a passionate supporter of recognizing the need to change the dialogue for women in finance- both as clients and colleagues. She created and led the Women & Wealth Institute and hosted this podcast for five years, producing nearly 60 shows. Beata has been recognized as an Investment News Excellence Awardee for the Female Trailblazer Award (2023), Investment News Women to Watch Top Portfolio Performer (2022) and Private Asset Management Women & Wealth Individual Advocate (2021).Beata is also an impactful investor and leader outside of Copia, through her Board and IC work at The Poetry Foundation and Macquarie Asset Management’s Active ETF Board.
