Wise Young Professionals Board Member & Stream Lead @Wise Young Professionals Committee

While on the WISE Young Professionals Board, I took part in panels to discuss diversity and inclusion, routes into STEM and my experiences entering the industry, as well as the Future of STEM.In my first year on the board, my main tasks (other than the overarching remit of getting more women and children into STEM) were focussed on the social media channels, which entailed creating graphics, monitoring interactions and general day to day running of the accounts, as well as ensuring a good stream of content throughout. I was also working on the Engage stream, which so far has included the WISE Young Professionals Podcast, Unfiltered STEM, which I both work on and can be heard on, as well as the WISE Young Professionals Book Club and Competition.Now in my third year on the board, I lead the Engage Stream once more, where we plan, record and publish episodes that might assist and inspire women working in STEM areas - I am incredibly aware of the issue of the \'leaky pipe\'- which is, where women leave early on in their careers due to lack of support, representation or a multitude of other reasons! We aim to make women feel less lonely in their roles, sometimes by sharing our own vulnerabilities! We have an incredible team to make this happen, and I\'m hugely excited for the year ahead.
