About Brian Desoto

I started my career as a commercial litigator and bankruptcy attorney. That experience taught me how to solve complex problems, structure arguments, and communicate effectively. I relocated to Cincinnati when I had an opportunity to join Great American. I began my insurance career in claims. I spent years building expertise across commercial property and casualty lines before shifting from individual contributor to leader, growing a claims organization from the ground up as the business scaled around us. That role eventually expanded to include underwriting and shared services. I then had the privilege of serving as divisional president of Great American\'s largest E&S-focused business, where we achieved significant growth during my tenure. What that role taught me was how to lead across diverse domains and keep everyone oriented around the same north star: industry-leading, bottom-line profitability.Today, as a group executive, I oversee multiple divisions across the specialty P&C market. I also lead our enterprise AI strategy, working with teams across every business unit and shared service to find high-ROI applications grounded in our business strategy. AI will transform our industry, and I\'m excited to play a part in helping Great American maintain its success in the AI era.
