ABOUT BASSAM CHIBLAK
My employer, Bishop\'s University, located in the Eastern Townships of Québec, has a lovely mission that I gladly stand by, which is to offer students unique Liberal Education experiences in an intimate setting with myriad hands-on learning opportunities in all fields. Be it programs like Arts Administration, English Literature, Études françaises et québecoises, Politics, or Sports Studies, I lead in curricular design and forge new partnerships for my institution. Outside of Bishop\'s, I am also involved in various projects as a developmental editor and book coach. I specialize in assisting authors stay accountable to themselves, yet I also guide them in developing their authentic writing voices, especially in academic fields where this concept is an afterthought. With 10+ years of leadership experience in Higher Education, I also previously consulted on various knowledge mobilization projects, and I was a humanities researcher and Vanier Scholar. Regardless of what occupies my time, my goal is to assist university stakeholders develop strategies to manage today\'s fast-paced environment and to face disruptions head-on with a creative mindset. There is a lot of noise out there; it is crucial to interpret this glut of data and information with razor-sharp precision to better design the Canadian university of tomorrow for all thought partners, especially the students. In short, I want to build kinder, more innovative institutions, and I believe we can only do so together.
