About Russell Moore

As General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of Big Bend Telephone (BBT) since 2012, I have played a pivotal role in guiding the company through two decades of growth and technological advancements. I oversee daily operations and lead the implementation of our strategic vision, ensuring alignment with the evolving landscape of rural communications.Prior to my current role, I served as Chief Technology Officer, where I focused on integrating our corporate vision with business strategies through effective technology deployment.I am actively involved in the industry, serving on the Texas Telephone Association Board of Directors, where I previously held the position of Chairman. I am also a member of the Dallas Federal Reserve Digital Inclusion Advisory Committee and serve as Treasurer for the USTelecom Board of Directors, where I was formerly Chairman. My participation extends to the NECA Rate Development Task Group and the legislative committees of TTA and USTelecom.Additionally, I contribute to my community as the current Chairman of the Alpine Emergency Services Board of Directors and also serve on the advisory committee for the Sul Ross Rio Grand College of Business. My previous roles include serving on the NTCA Industry Committee and two terms on the NTCA Board of Directors, representing Southwest Region commercial companies. I am a graduate of the inaugural Telecom Executives course offered by the United States Telecom Association in partnership with Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.With over 30 years of experience at BBT, I have worked across various domains, including outside plant construction, installation and repair, switching, and network operations. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business from Sul Ross State University.I reside in Alpine with my wife, Ginger, where we are committed to supporting our local community.
