Dr. Vineet Kumar’s research focuses on the waste valorization and treatment of industrial waste/wastewater pollutants by metagenomics, bioaugmentation, biostimulation, phytoremediation approaches for sustainable development. He has published more than 73 articles in peer-reviewed international journals of repute, 24 books, and 60 book chapters, on various aspects of science and engineering, with more than citations of and h-index of 42 (Google Scholar). Dr. Kumar has been serving as a guest editor and reviewer in more than 95 prestigious International Journals. He has served on the editorial board of various reputed journals. He has received prestigious fellowships, including the Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship by the University Grants Commission; the National Postdoctoral Fellowship (N-PDF) by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB); DBT Fellowship under the DBT-Research Associateship Program of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, demonstrating his commitment to environmental research and education. He has received the Young Environmental Scientist Award (2018) in international conferences. He has been recognized among the top 2% scientists worldwide in 2023 and 2025 by Stanford University.
