ABOUT LEE BAXTER
37 years experience of global financial services, logistics and software development in Enterprise Architecture, Data Architecture and CRM Architecture with a background in systems design and development.I am currently working as a Principal Architect for OCLC, a not-for-profit software organisation supporting academic, public and government library communities. Collaboration is key in a global organisation and my warm, friendly style is a strength.Working in partnership with senior business and IT stakeholders I set enterprise architecture strategy to deliver creative but realistic enterprise scale solutions. My strategic recommendations are always pragmatic and rooted in economic viability.I established the reference architecture and implemented architecture governance processes for OCLC. I also set up the enterprise architecture practice for IPF based on TOGAF principles and structure. During my time at HSBC Bank I played key role in establishing the global architecture practice. Continuing to maintain my solution architecture skills, I recently designed and led the delivery of a transformational API program for OCLC using AWS technology. I am familiar with operating in complex matrix management structures brought about by large change management programmes. I have a collaborative style and consult and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders from junior staff up to business and IT executives. I understand the importance of data to the organisation in its many dimensions, from efficiencies realised by standardisation through to the potential for devastating loss from inadequate control of data. I also understand the importance of people to the organisation and have previously led large teams spread across continents; having worked on location in multiple countries I know how important understanding culture is for success.
