In addition to spearheading the day to day execution of the strategic and governance related tasks of the SSM bank (regulated directly by the European Central Bank), I lead and execute all client engagement workstreams for the CEO of Barclays Europe, who is the key senior sponsor for most CIB relationships of Barclays in Continental Europe.Our team also executes all significant M&A / strategic projects in tandem with Barclays Group Corporate Development team, such as Barclays Europe’s exploration of the relocation of its headquarters to France, and sale of its legacy businesses and portfolios.The office I lead also holds the primary responsibility for all entity-only strategic initiatives, such as the BE’s compliance with the ECB guidelines on climate and environment, and the successful implementation of an ESG operating plan, given the regulatory divergence between the UK and Europe post-Brexit.
