As a Country Support Officer (FSL-02/GS-14 equivalent), I provide support for food security (Feed the Future), nutrition, WASH, climate and resilience programs to USAID Missions in Africa, Asia, Europe and Eurasia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Middle East regions. This involves leading country support teams (CSTs) of technical, programmatic, and policy experts to ensure country program designs and activity development align with Agency and Bureau strategic goals for poverty reduction and sustainable, inclusive development.As Co-Lead of the REFS Gender Tiger Team I led the development of the bureau\'s new commitment on advancing gender equality and women\'s empowerment called Generating Resilience and Opportunities for Women (GROW) which supports women in food and water systems, adapting to climate change and increasing their economic opportunities.

ABOUT BATHSHEBA F. BRYANT-TARPEH

I am a humanistic social scientist and ethnographer with a passion for community empowerment and demonstrated history of working in the international development and affairs sector. My field experience has focused on smallholder farmers in West Africa and coffee farmers and wildlife conservation in South America. My approach to development is from a human rights and environmental justice lens. I believe that gender and social science research and approaches support innovations in policy and practice in global development by improving livelihoods and opportunities for the most vulnerable. My interests are food and nutrition security, land and resource rights, and gender equality and women\'s empowerment for People of African Descent, Indigenous and local communities.
