About Debraj Basu
My endeavors in the last 10+ years mainly focus on data informatics, data science, statistical analysis and signal processing over a wide and complex variety of data sets.I build machine learning (ML) algorithms using python to predict the state of human health. I generate accurate, real-time predictions to help diagnose disease and early intervention using a multitude of clinical and biological patient data inputs. I coordinate with the product development and sales team to respond to feedbacks from our customers in a timely manner. Broadly, professional endeavors/research have addressed• the development of a ML model that predicts fluid responsiveness across multiple porcine models of circulatory shock using only arterial blood pressure data that performed as well or better than pulse pressure variation. Results suggest that ML-based models may enable improved decision support for the management of circulatory shock• the prediction of sepsis onset by using different physiological signals and ML algorithms to build prediction models that can generate alarms and significantly reduce time of intervention• the timely development of a forecasting model that predicts the number of Covid-19 patient admission in the hospital, thus supporting the hospital administration to optimize resource allocation in this pandemic time• the building of low power consuming radio transmission algorithms for body wearable sensors (BAN) used for continuous monitoring of ambulatory patients
