Provide global component cost comparison analysis by working with System Cost Engineers from other regions Have visited supplier in India & Thailand for benchmarking Best in class supplier & process & developed cost models for stamping commodities. Research Low Volume Flexible Mfg. technologies, construct appropriate cost models, support PS developing strategic suppliers Evaluating engineering changes to establish technical cost for the change and identify the cost drivers for variable and supplier tooling Lead target cost setting for forward model program for interior & exterior commodities. Developing Annual Cost update to review product cost Lead supplier cost workshop & support negotiation throughout the lifecycle of the product. Providing cost analysis, cost walk, trade-off analysis of cost vs features in NPI reviews. Research and develop new technology in manufacturing Maintain and improve upon internal databases for materials, labour & Investment; tracking economic changes over time, ensuring up by doing Market test and create market intelligence report to update database every year Participating in design workshops like BOB, DEA & DGA and support PD in meeting cost targets & support supplier negotiation to meet program delivery targets Benchmark Best-in-Class manufacturing process across multiple suppliers thereby identifying cost reduction opportunities Driving cost reduction through Negotiation, localization & Value Engineering thru VA/VE Ideas Leading Supplier negotiation and reduce cost based on Physical Based analysis, identifying key cost drivers, explaining cost gaps
