In my role, I provide comprehensive support to elderly individuals with various forms of dementia in an inpatient care setting. My focus is on enhancing their quality of life while promoting positive behavioural outcomes through evidence-based interventions.Key responsibilities include:Psychological Formulation: Applying psychological models to understand the underlying factors influencing behaviour, enabling the development of targeted interventions.Implementing Positive Behavioural Support (PBS): Using evidence-based strategies to manage and improve behaviours of concern associated with dementia.Conducting Behavioural Assessments: Identifying triggers and patterns in behaviour to develop tailored interventions.Developing Individualized Care Plans: Creating and maintaining care plans that prioritize dignity, safety, and well-being.Designing Observation Tools: Crafting tools to monitor, analyse, and enhance patient care.Training and Supervising Staff: Empowering healthcare staff through training and guidance in delivering person-centred care.Collaborating in Multidisciplinary Teams (MDT): Actively contributing to MDT meetings, ensuring cohesive and effective care strategies.Engaging in Clinical Supervision: Regularly working with a qualified clinical psychologist to refine practice and uphold best standards of care.Working within an inpatient environment, I am dedicated to fostering a supportive and enriching atmosphere for individuals with dementia while also contributing to the professional development and well-being of the care team.
