ABOUT BASEL ABOU LABAN

Basel is a Director in the Risk Assurance Services practice of PwC Canada, focusing on data analytics and digital enablement. He is primarily responsible for supporting private and public sector clients with database development and implementation, complex analytics and transformation leveraging Alteryx, and visualization on multiple dynamic platforms, predominantly Tableau, Power BI, and Qlik. Basel specializes in developing technical solutions and models, primarily focusing on the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) methodology, to assess, analyze, and visualize complex data structures. Basel has managed and worked in all project lifecycle stages, from budgeting and planning, business requirements gathering, analyzing, and monitoring databases, to documenting results through interactive visualized dashboards based on complex data sets, which provides real-time support to the executive team members. In addition, Basel has extensive experience in federal government projects focusing on risk analytics, data privacy, project management, and data analytics. He has extensive knowledge in analyzing various databases such as SAP and Oracle, designing and analyzing SAP data conversions, and developing SAP queries. He also has in-depth knowledge of SAP data extraction while visualizing data in a variety of tools to identify trends and data outliers. Basel has a degree in Business Technology from Cape Breton University, majoring in Information Systems and minoring in Accounting. He is also a successful Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
